What is the Labyrinth?
The cult classic fantasy adventure film Labyrinth was created by world-famous puppeteer and filmmaker Jim Henson in the mid 1980s. Starring the 14-year-old Jennifer Connelly as Sarah and British glam rocker David Bowie as the Goblin King, Labyrinth is the tale of one girl's journey through the many realms of an impossible maze, inhabited by a myriad of strange and unusual creatures who befriend and bewilder her, courtesy of Brian Froud's production design and the Jim Henson Creature Shop.
One scene shows Sarah's debut at a surreal Venetian-esque masquerade that exists inside a floating crystal ball. She is tantilizingly serenaded by the handsome and mysterious Goblin King and in a haze of forgetfulness she begins to dance with him, allowing herself to be swept off the course of her quest and losing herself in this magical world of high fantasy.
What is the Labyrinth Masquerade event?
Hosted by the fans, held for the fans, the Labyrinth Masquerade seeks to turn one of the most beloved and bewitching scenes from the film into a real-world experience for everyone to enjoy. This is a night in which to celebrate fantasy, live your most surreal and beautiful dreams, dress up in sumptuous ballgowns or as creatures of pure imagination. Meet and befriend other fantasy fans, play games and let your inner child frolick, learn a dance or two and wander in a night-time realm where nothing is impossible and you help create the magic.

What is Sypher's Labyrinth of Jareth - Fantasy Masquerade Ball XI event and is it related to the Labyrinth Masquerade 2008 in Melbourne?
Sypher Studios is an American company that began almost exactly the same way that we did, only with a few years head start.
